This sensational festival centres on two main events

Do you enjoy sampling - and even better, being able to make - exotic and decadent cocktails? And what about indulging in fine food, created with the finest, and freshest, ingredients around? Then the Mixology Festival at Buddha-Bar Beach this March is definitely the right thing for you. What’s more, this novel festival takes place in two parts both worth experiencing; the cocktail masterclasses and the Sunday brunch; set to be extraordinary experiences along the gorgeous “sunset” coast. 

There are three cocktail masterclasses to choose from

From Friday 8 March to Sunday 10 March 2019, between 17:00 and 18:00 each evening, there will be a cocktail making masterclass open to residents and non-residents of Sugar Beach (a surcharge does apply for the class and dinner is not included in the class price). During the masterclass, participants will learn the secret to creating the five cocktails on the special pop-up menu led by mixologist extraordinaire and Buddha-Bar’s Executive Bar Chef, Matthias Giroud. 




At the end of the class, each participant will be able to choose their favourite of the five cocktails which will then be made by Matthias Giroud and enjoyed along with some appetisers and sublime views of the gorgeous Indian Ocean. 

The cocktail menu is as exciting as it is unique

The special edition cocktail menu developed to delight during this mixology festival has an array of incredible and novel concoctions, bound to tantalise the taste buds. Here are the cocktails that will be offered:

Smoky Pirate (Smoke Experience)

Smokey Pirate

Black Rum, maraschino liquor, Passion & Tonka bean artisanal shrub & angostura bitters.
- Blast Butterfly (Bubble Experience)
Elderflower liquor infused with combava essential oil and 100% organic, fresh lemon juice, grenade juice & champagne.
- Summer Garden (Garden Experience)
Gin-infused green pepper & cucumber, fresh lime juice, hibiscus/ylang-ylang artisanal cordial & fresh apple juice.
- Chanoyu Street (Traditional Experience - alcohol-free)
Matcha tea syrup, soy milk, mango juice and pineapple juice.
- Travel Box (Flavour Experience - alcohol-free)
Cranberry juice, fresh basil, honey water infused with bergamot essential oil, 100% organic, fresh lemon juice & yuzu soda/green tea geisha.
Artistically designed and presented with style, these tasty beverages are sure to be utterly delicious. 
The festival’s Sunday brunch should not be missed
On the final day of the mixology festival - 10 March 2019 - there will be a specially created and absolutely divine Sunday Brunch. The menu for this gourmet experience includes everything from a ceviche bar and sushi to grilled seafood (such as prawns and the fresh catch of the day), moreish curries, chilli crab and a mini dessert buffet, to name but a few of the offerings expertly crafted by Sugar Beach’s esteemed Chef Mauree and his team.


Matthias Giroud will also be on hand to add his skill and creativity to the famous Buddha-Bar cocktails served during the brunch and to interact with the guests fortunate to be a part of this event. An additional fee is charged for the brunch, which includes a welcome drink on arrival.
