Bringing more than 25 years’ of hospitality industry experience to SUN Ltd, David J. Anderson joined the company as CEO in February 2016. Previously he served as the Regional Vice President of Wyndham Hotel Group and Managing Director of Dolce Hotels & Resorts, with a portfolio of 182 hotels across 5 brands. He served as Managing Director of Dolce Hotels and Resorts, a respected leader in the group, meeting and conference space and luxury accommodation for four years, until its acquisition by Wyndham in April 2015. Prior to joining the Dolce Hotels & Resorts in January 2012, David J. Anderson held senior leadership roles at Louvre Hotel Group, Paris, where he was the Vice President of Operations for Northern Europe. Aged 50 and a British citizen, he holds a BA Honours in Business Studies with French from London Metropolitan University.

A BSC graduate from the London School of Economics and fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, Tommy Wong Yun Shing acquired his working experience as a chartered accountant in UK with Deloitte before returning to Mauritius. As a partner in Deloitte Mauritius, he was in charge of the corporate finance department together with the auditing of some publicly listed companies and large corporations. In July 1998, he joined the Executive team of SUN to take over the responsibilities of finance, project studies and the group accounts. As Chief Finance Officer of the Group, he supervises all the finances, legal and treasury of the group as well as some operational responsibilities. Having been President of the Association des Hoteliers et Restaurateurs de l’île Maurice (AHRIM) previously, he is a Board member and acts as the treasurer and chairman of the finance committee.

Bernard Forster was appointed Group Director of Asset Management of Sun Resorts in July 2015.

Bernard joined from Aujan Group Holding, where he asset managed their hotel and real estate portfolio, notably in Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the UAE. Previously he was with IFA Hotel Investments, where as VP Asset Management he asset managed IFA’s hotel and real estate portfolio outside of the UAE, such as Namibia, South Africa, Zanzibar and Lebanon.

Bernard gained diverse experience through consulting as Director of HVS Global Hospitality Services, based in London; he was responsible for Africa, the Middle East and Turkey during his ten-year tenure. He has advised clients in the hospitality sector globally on a wide range of issues including development viability, investment advice, mergers and acquisitions, refinancing, valuations and hotel management contract selection and negotiations. Bernard commenced his career in the hospitality industry in 1991 at the Savoy Group in London.

Bernard is an experienced asset manager, with focus on the complete asset cycle from acquisition to disposal spanning both, operational assets and development projects, in the hospitality field and the wider real estate market. He has a detailed understanding of the implementation of mixed use projects.

Nicolas de Chalain has been appointed GM of Sugar Beach.
Since he joined Sun Resorts in 1997, Nicolas has held several positions within the group, especially at La Pirogue and Long Beach. He has joined the team of Sugar Beach since January 19.

Andrew Slome has been appointed GM of La Pirogue.
After having been General Manager of Le Touessrok and Sugar Beach, Andrew is back at La Pirogue since January 2016.

Clency Romeo has been appointed GM of Ambre.
Since 2013, Clency held the position of General Manager of La Pirogue, he joined Ambre in January.

Jean-Marc Ma-Poon was appointed General Manager of Long Beach on the 1st July 2016.

Jean-Marc was born and raised in Mauritius and holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management from Glion Hotel School, Switzerland. Jean-Marc has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for 13 years, including the W Retreat & Spa, Maldives and W Retreat & Spa, Bali, the Sheraton in both Jordan and London, the Westin in both Dallas and the US Virgin Islands, where he has gained extensive experience in a range of hotels and resorts’ operations. He has more recently been in the Maldives, where he was the General Manager of Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas.

Taking the helm as General Manager of Long Beach, Jean-Marc is set to lead a strong team, to present a dynamic style of modern luxury experience to the guests and to take the hotel to the next level.
