2016 has been a year of positive changes at Sun Group where we announced a new strategy for the group and our ambition to be a leading sustainable hospitality company in the region. In order to support this strategy, we introduced a simplified organisational structure that enables us to better understand and respond to our clients’ needs and to bring each of our businesses closer to its market. In December 2016, we completed an unprecedented capital raise to ensure that Sun Group has a strong financial base needed to successfully implement its new strategy and invest to remain competitive.
As Sun Group wishes to extend its reach, it is important to have a framework of sustainability strategies and programmes in place to address topics such as climate change, water scarcity, human rights, pollution, good governance and so forth. Sun Group has sharpened its focus on sustainability through the establishment of a Sustainability Committee at all levels, from head office to all businesses within the group.
In order to integrate sustainability into our day to day business activities, Sun Group has developed and implementing SUN CARE Program where corporate responsibility is not just a declaration of intent but embedded in the organisation.
We believe that corporate social responsibility must be a foundation of our long-term growth and profitability. Not only is it an integral part of our overall business strategy, but it is also the right thing to do. It is the right thing for our customers, our suppliers, our shareholders, our communities and for you, as a core part of this company.
Looking ahead, Sun will continue to encourage its associates to advance sustainability and engage with communities and stakeholders to achieve measurable results over the decades to come.
Thank you for following Sun’s progress.
