As of May 1, 2010, Mauritian-born Nicolas de Chalain is the General Manager of Long Beach, the latest Sun Resorts' contemporary tropical 5 star resort of 255 keys planned to open in December 2010. Nicolas de Chalain was previously General Manager of La Pirogue, one of the most popular Mauritian resorts, on the West Coast of the island.

Nicolas de Chalain joined Sun Resorts in July 1997 as Sales Manager in charge of Groups, Incentives and Conferences for the Group. Five years later, Nicolas was appointed as Resident Manager at Sugar Beach Resort for two and a half years. Nicolas returned to the Regional Office as Regional Sales & Marketing Manager in 2004, assisting the Commercial Director and looking after the Regional markets as well as Incentive, Events and Golf. He was appointed General Manager of La Pirogue in 2005.
Before joining Sun Resorts, Nicolas did his hotel and tourism training with Sheraton International in Phuket and Bangkok and then worked with Beachcomber Hotels as Executive Assistant Manager at Le Paradis and at Le Royal Palm. He studied in South Africa and holds a BSc (Hons) Business Science from Rhodes University.
Nicolas de Chalain is an enthusiastic golfer and was Captain of the Mauritian Golf team that played at the 2009 Amateur Golf World Cup in Australia. He also spearheaded the team that launched in 2009 a major and successful golf tournament on the West coast of Mauritius, The Mauritius Standard Bank Open and the first ever Indian Ocean Golf Cup in 2010. He is married to Mauritian born Jeannick and is the proud father of three children.
