Alessandro Cabella has been appointed in June 2011 General Manager of La Pirogue, the most iconic hotel of Sun Resorts. The experienced hotelier, after several key executive posts around the world, is back to Sun Resorts group of hotels, where he was previously Resident Manager of Le Touessrok.

Before re-joining Sun Resorts, Alessandro Cabella was, for the past 2 years, General Manager of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, member of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, where he was responsible for the opening of this huge integrated resort which includes 2,650 rooms, 14 restaurants and bar, 6 Celebrity Chefs Restaurants, banquet space up to 10,000 people, a casino, a shopping mall and 2 theatres.
With more than 25 years in the hospitality sector, Alessandro is no stranger to Mauritius as he was the Resident Manager of One&Only Le Touessrok from 2002 to 2004. During that period, he was instrumental in the reopening and management of the iconic resort under the One&Only brand as well as the opening of Le Touessrok Golf Course on Ile aux Cerfs. Further on, he also served for another 2 years as Vice President & Resort Manager for One &Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas.
At 46 years of age, the Italian born hospitality professional has held key executive positions for several other prestigious hotels brands such as Orient Express, Shangri-La, Intercontinental and in particular with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts as Vice-President Food & Beverage overseeing 130 hotels in 57 countries.
Alessandro Cabella is a multicultural and multilingual international hospitality professional and has grown up in the hospitality world. He comes from a family of Hoteliers and Coffee & Chocolate Pioneers in Italy. The Torino-based Casa del Caffe coffee brand and bars were founded by his grandparents. He holds a Hotel Management Degree from the world renowned Glion Hotel School in Switzerland among other diplomas and qualifications.
